Link Love for Writers

It's been an extremely long time since I've done any sort of linky love blogging. Reading through my favorite blogs, I figured hey, why not share the love? And some great info, as well.

Are you a writer with a finished, polished manuscript? Want to snag an agent in a contest? Authoress, aka Miss Snarks First Victim, has her Secret Agent contest that will begin Labor Day (that's this Monday just incase you've forgotten). There ARE rules, and let me tell you, if you want to get in on this, ACT FAST. She usually fills up in 3 minutes, especially when there is a call for any sort of YA. Because of the amount of genres the Secret Agent is accepting, Authoress is only accepting those who have not entered the contest in 2009. Doesn't matter if you won or not, if you tried entering (like me, waaah) you cannot submit. But, if you haven't, give it a try! Make sure to read the rules, and good luck!

For those who need some ideas for the next book to pick up, check out The Enchanted Inkpot, a blog run by a group of authors (for middle grade and young adult fantasy). They've recently blogged about some newer releases.

Another great place for this is Fantasy Debut. Tia talks about tons of great new debut authors, and sometimes, not-so-debut. Give it a look-see and jot down a list for what book to buy next!

Query Tracker also has a smart blog and just posted their Publishing Pulse which is loaded with some valuable industry information.

And last for now, I wanted to give a shout out to my friend, Amy Bai, who was interviewed at The Blog Realm (including a snazzy, awesome illustration of her main character which "Realm" does with all of her interviews).

Don't forget, if you haven't already, to read Mary Malcolm's interview below this post. She's got the best sense of humor and has a lot of wonderful stuff to say in regards to the RWA, writing in general, and her debut book, DINER GIRL.

Have a great Labor Day!
