Book Trailers and Boy Do I Love This Industry

My brain is fried looking through pictures that would work for my book trailer(s)! Arg. I'm so picky. Why do I have to be so picky? I have my husband, mister film maker guy, but you know, I don't really want to have to pay any actors to do this, plus, hello, picky over here!

The pile of empty Dove chocolate wrappers is building. Uh oh. For those that have done trailers, please, e-mail me how in the world you even started the process of putting the images together. I've got something (idea wise, not talking technical...this is all just so overwhelming), but I'm not sure if it's . . . um . . . good. Hah!

And after reading through #YALitchat on Twitter, and just you know, knowing all of these awesome people out there in the industry . . . it fills me up with goodness! I love this industry, I really, really do. Some really great people out there that I'm privileged to know. Maybe the chocolate is making me emotional, but....I love you guys!

It's all about karma, and most of the people I know around here are all about helping each other out. You all rock!

/end random emotional blabbering

  2. ((hug))

    *hands over more Dove chocolate*

I think Gretchen did a book trailer for her latest MS. Have you checked with her? I haven't done one yet, mainly because I'm a wimp.

    Tee hee.

I am rooting for you from the sidelines, though!

  3. talk about timing! I'm making my first one right now (well, I'm planning it currently), but there was a really great post about it here: http://letthewordsflow.wordpress.com/2009/12/28/make-a-book-trailer-in-10-easy-steps/

  4. Did you ask Gretchen (Blond)? Her book trailer was full of awesome. Are you doing this for Mythic? Oooh, I can't wait to see.

  6. Book trailers! Wow it's been awhile since I thought about mine...a long while. I ended up using scenes I filmed on my own and a voice over I did myself because I panicked about copyright infringement. Can't wait to see yours; hopefully you didn't panic like I did, because I'm not sure how important or what types of copyright infringement come into play in book trailers. Questions.

  8. Jason! Thanks for stopping by! :) Click on the Book Trailers tag at the bottom of the post, it will link to all my blogs about them (I tried pasting the link but blogger is being a butt about it).

But, you can also go to youtube and search for book trailers. There's a ton out there. Basically, like a movie trailer, but for your book.

  10. Aw, Jill :P The hard part for me is just coming up with the concept of it, if you get what I mean. Sort of like query writing for me: very hard and frustrating! But the technical aspects should be smooth sailing. I can't WAIT for it to be finished.
