Is this thing on?

Well, goodness, it's been well over a year since I've used this thing. Is it still working? I'm not entirely sure why I'm posting. It was one of those random, spur of the moment, it's-1am-in-the-morning-and-I-can't-sleep kind of ideas. While I'm not as avid a writer as I was pre-child-cancer, I haven't lost the urge. I have, however, lost the time.

I finally graduated this spring, got a job before summer to be a 2nd grade teacher at a new charter school which opened up this fall. It has been a whirlwind of a ride, but I'm loving it. I have some super kiddos I just adore (and I think they adore me, too) and an awesome partner teacher (we share our 20 kids so we have a total of 40, she is their bilingual teacher...it's a trilingual school...nuts!) that makes work fun.

My stupendous super hero Alaina is CANCER FREE. Let me say it again in case that wasn't loud enough....

CANCER FREE

She started kindergarten, we bought a new house, and she is now down to going to her oncologist bimonthly instead of every month. Anderson just started wearing big boy underwear, Averie is on the last book of Harry Potter (my little 9 year-old is eating up that series...she started it back end of September!) Life is heading in the positive direction....let's hope it stays that way!

Other than new discoveries of my elves on shelves and where they like to hang (we have one at home, and one showed up in my classroom...) I guess there is really no point to me having a blog. But who cares. It's fun! We'll see how long it lasts, knowing my fickle self.
